In 2020, Amy Vilela led the charge for Bernie Sanders' landslide victory in the Nevada caucuses, and she's fought in the trenches of the political revolution to elect progressive champions like Representatives Cori Bush and Jamaal Bowman.
Now in 2022, she's running for a 100% grassroots, people-powered campaign for Congress in Las Vegas to represent Nevada's First District because we deserve more.
AMY'S REASON WHY
In 2015, Amy’s 22-year-old daughter, Shalynne, died a painful and needless death at the hands of our country's broken, profit-driven healthcare system after she was turned away at a local emergency room—all simply because she could not provide adequate proof of insurance. The last thing Amy told Shalynne, as she held her dying body in her arms, was that she would not die in vain.
Amy knows she can’t save Shalynne, but her death was a reminder that we are all only as safe as the most vulnerable among us, and Amy will never stop fighting for those lives that we still can save.
